Hi Guys. I have only ever owned one amp so i need your advice (having no other experience of my own to compare).

I don't think my amp is anything special so i want to buy a new one that will sound better (i recently purchased an Epiphone Casino and i feel i'm not getting the most out of it with this amp). My current amp model is: AMP-GSK10W, which i assume means it is a 10W amp. The make is XXL POWER SOUND, which i don't think is popular. The input power is 220v-240v-50Hz, which may not be relevant at all.

What would be the natural progression from this amp that would give me a better sound quality - keeping in mind i don't want to be spending a lot! Should i get a 30W amp? Does wattage really matter that much?

Thanks for hearing a newbie out!

:)

If I were you I wouldn't get anything over 25 watts. I got a fender champion 300 for around 200 dollars and it's the best amp for small gigs and practicing that I've ever played on. Marshall also makes some really good cheaper combo amps too.

10 watts is perfect for practice, 30w is great for band practice, and 50 and up is great for live performances. However, there are also tonal considerations to make, ass well as financial and size considerations about the amp you are interested in.

It seems that both of us wanderlei experience such as amp problems. I even print out solutions so that I won't need to call tech support or ask anybody for help. Anyways, good day.
